Darlene was born and raised in Marlboro, NY, a small town located in the picturesque Hudson Valley. In 1986, she graduated with a degree in Retail Business Management that included coursework in Interior Design. After graduation, she accepted a management position for a large national retail corporation. The high demands of this position shaped her into an effective manager of people as well as honing her merchandising skills. Darlene’s love of visual display, organization, and working with people made retail the perfect occupation.
In her desire for a change (and warmer weather), Darlene and her husband Scott moved to Raleigh, NC fall of 1990. She continued to work in retail management until their first daughter was born. By day Darlene was a stay-at-home mom who worked nights and weekends selling cosmetics, home cleaning products, clothing, and even electronics. Excelling in sales, she knows how to listen to what customers ask for and does her best to fulfill their needs.
Darlene’s beginning in the real estate industry began in the mid-1990s when she and her husband started buying and selling properties they personally renovated. While working with her husband in his residential appraisal business, she acquired her appraisal license and has been an NC Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser since 2009.
Darlene’s understanding of appraisals, house construction, love for design, and desire to work with people; She pursued a license to sell real estate. Since getting her Realtor’s license in 2013, she has helped many people buy and sell residential properties throughout the Triangle area. She loves that most of her new clients come from referrals of past clients.
A high priority for her is educating and helping her clients make informed real estate choices. Whether you are a ‘first-time buyer’, a repeat buyer, or a seasoned investor, she is ready to work with you!
