It was an unplanned move for me and my mom after losing my job, but I was optimistic and ready for a fresh new start. After landing a new position, I immediately began looking for permanent housing options. My New York realtor and friend suggested I explore the real estate market in the DMV area. She had a friend in the area who had just purchased a house and had given his realtor high praises. From the introductory phone call, Diane went to work, never stopping, even when I wanted to. She is also extremely responsive, hard working and efficient. We are now in the house of our dreams and not without brilliantly navigating drama. We started out with another realtor. We looked at our first batch of houses with this realtor. As my wife and I told the realtor we didn't really like any of the houses, the realtor asked which one we wanted to put and offer in on. We cringed but held on for a bit but started to talk to a second option, Diane. When we first told her the situation she said she didn't want to step on anyone's toes. She told us she did not want to work with us unless we really thought the other realtor was not the right person for us. We saw a window into a sincere individual in that moment and are so happy we made the decision to work with Diane. She always responds to texts and emails almost immediately and always answer phone calls. Often times we would call and she would pull over and send documents or emails via her phone while still on the phone with us. The house we couldn't live without was only on the market for 3 days and Diane got us into an unusually long contract before closing. When a circumstance forced us to move the closing date back and the seller freaked out she got us on the phone with the seller immediately and we resolved everything. I had never purchased a home so I had a lot of concerns and questions but Diane was the calm one. Her calming spirit truly helped me to get thru the process. Diane doesn't just take you to see homes... while you are enthralled by the types and sizes.... she is looking at the details of the house to determine whether you are getting the best house for your money. Diane would call, text and email both myself and the loan processor on a daily basis. If I didn't understand something the loan processor said... she would call them to get better clarification. Diane is very knowledgeable about the different types of loans. We were doing a VA loan. She knew all the particulars and as a result we got the house of our dreams. When we saw the house someone had already made a bid but after speaking with her ... the seller decided to sale to us. She was able to get the seller to pay 3% of the closing cost... it seems like a small percentage but we didn't have to bring any money to closing. This was our first time buying a home or even looking for a home, and Diane was amazing from the very beginning she found us a home in a night time frame with the must haves and donts that we wanted in a home in the area that we wanted to buy. We have five children and Diane was also excellent with my 1 year old twin daughter usually doesn't go to people and she loved Diane she even said her name she wanted to go bye bye with Ms.Diane . She used her expertise and made sure the home was in a safe area for our children she did the research on every aspect that a home buyer could ask for. Diane informed us of things that we didn't know about purchasing homes and guided us every step of the way. She was even staying in contact with us on regards to documents that needed to be filled out as well as keeping us updated on the whole process while she was on vacation. It really made me and my wife appreciate her and built a trust relationship with her. Whatever she would recommend for us to do we didn't even think twice about it. we did as she said. We had a couple issues with our loan going threw and the lenders. She got the sellers to extend the closing date. With that being said she used her knowledge and very high expertise skills and was able to help us get the loan and here we are we got our house of our dreams to raise our family in. Without her we would not be here. She also saved us a lot of money threw out the whole process by having a built relationship with the title company, inspectors and was able to negotiate with the sellers to pay all the closing costs which saved us thousands of out of pocket money that we really didn't have at the time. To wrap it up Diane is amazing and made our home buying a smooth breeze. I would recommend her to anybody that is looking for a real estate agent. As my eight year old said she is an angel because she was able to get our house so she could have her own big bedroom by herself and not have to share any more and my daughter couldn't have said it better. 11/10/2015 - email2kc Helped me rent a Single Family home in Olde Glebe, Arlington, VA. I can't say enough about Diane and the help she provided my husband and I in our search for a rental property. Diane proactively engaged me when another rental I had contacted her about was not an option, offering help to find the right property. We were still overseas at this point, about to move to the US with little to no knowledge of the local areas and the rental process. Diane hunted out dozens of potential homes for us to review online, which we narrowed to 12. As we did not have a vehicle upon arriving in the US, Diane offered to pick us up from downtown, including our 1 year old son, and drove us to all 12 properties. When it wasn't the right house, we moved on quickly - she even gave some very helpful insights about potential issues during the colder months on some of the properties - she really was looking out for us and wanted us to have the right home for the next 3 years.
