About Douglas

Douglas grew up in South Minneapolis where his parents moved from “the farm” to “the cities.” They bought one of the first houses south of Minnehaha Creek being built in the Armatage neighborhood in 1954. Farther south was only prairie and wetland and what was to become Southdale. Their friends thought why do you want to move all the way out there? There is nothing out there! Time and progress showed much development was to come!

Douglas currently lives in South Minneapolis in the Lyndale neighborhood which is near LynLake and Uptown. My wife Denise, rescue dog Charlie and Cat Thurston share a 1908 built home. They have a large garden and enjoy hosting the occasional neighborhood garden tour and party.
