Ed Hughey

As both a licensed Realtor and practicing residential Architect, Ed offers his expansive knowledge to streamline the buying and selling process in the fast-paced Austin market. His passion for creating “home,” and the creative lens through which he views residential properties, make him uniquely positioned to offer invaluable guidance for each client’s personal real estate journey.

Whether sketching out renovation ideas, discussing his thorough understanding of building practices, imparting knowledge of city code, assessing value and feasibility, or connecting his clients with an extensive network of builders and service providers, Ed adds immeasurable value to his clients. Ed understands that home buying and selling is an important, and often emotional, process that requires thorough, honest, and straightforward advice each step of the way. Communicating clearly and consistently with his clients, supporting and protecting their goals, and negotiating strongly on their behalf are the cornerstones of his professional service.

Originally from the Northeast, Ed moved to Austin in 2003 to pursue his Master's in Architecture at the University of Texas. After falling in love with Austin, and calling it home ever since Ed has developed a rich understanding of the city and all the unique aspects that make it such a special place. As a longtime resident of the vibrant east side, Ed was drawn to the energy and distinctiveness of the East Caesar Chavez community where he and his wife Valerie recently found, designed, and renovated a charming 1930s bungalow. Out of the office, Ed and Valerie enjoy hosting dinner parties, finding the latest restaurants and watering holes, or traveling around the globe to far off places such as Japan and Thailand. Ed also enjoys spending time on the hike and bike trail, cycling, yoga, and Steelers football.
