About Genae

Genae would consider herself as being more strategic than risky. She often overthinks things considering the possible risks and consequences. However, when it came to starting her own business, she was willing to risk everything because the worst-case scenario would have been she would have to go back to working for someone. This season in her life is one of the most if not the most risk she has ever experienced.

Genae is the first Black Woman owned Title Company in Colorado and 3rd nationally that she can Google. She just happened upon the Title Industry and has been in it for 25 years. As a minority in this industry, she was almost always the only Black person in many rooms, and it was not easy at first and a bit intimidating until she realized she’s great at what she does and does have value to add.

Genae has learned that people and companies will do what is best for them and the business and the team of people building it, are usually last on the list. As an employer, she strives to be different and let her employees know they are valued and no one gets to the top alone, so she embraces what they bring to the table that helps them grow as they do matter.

In creating a brand for the company, it is important to make sure Genae and her team create an experience for their clients because these are not just transactions, but a major part of people’s lives and the value has to be acknowledged. In an effort to do this, Genae and her team offer celebratory toast and picture magnets to capture their special moment while maintaining top level of communication from the beginning to the end of each transaction.

Lately, Genae is almost all business and very little play. This is an area that she is intentionally working on changing. Teatime somewhere would be on the list followed by some dancing lessons because she loves to dance. She would also go out to try some of the mom-and-pop restaurants providing reviews amongst one another and because she’s fancy inside, she would have to go to at least one fancy restaurant. She would also have to go downtown Denver and walk the 16th Street Mall and if time permits a visit to the smash room and escape room would top it all off.

Genae believes that God allowed her increase in faith to be the steppingstone of her business. Her daughter planted the seed of Mom can do it mentality. Her mother gave the company’s first $10k of seed money and her best friend has jumped in and been a Jack of trades for literally anything she has needed, no questions asked.

One of Genae’s good friends shared her story and encouraged her to embody her vision, taste it, see it, smell it. The book Yes referred to her by a fellow Realtor helped her continue her journey with enthusiasm and gratitude. Genae’s village has encouraged, supported, and rallied around her to continue to cheer her on. With that said, she is very grateful for her circle.
