What would be the "must have" characteristics of an ideal real estate agents for you? For me, they are trust, knowledge, responsiveness, kindness, experience and guidance. I am not sure how many percentage of the real estate agents have all these in a certain degree, but I would say I found all of them on Mahmut. Define your budget and your criteria on your dream house and let him know, then it is easy from start to end, he can guide you what to consider what not, where to buy, where to get loan, actions you need to take timely manner etc. It is a looong and sophisticated journey to buy a house in US, but Mahmut can make it easier and smoother for you. We worked with Mahmut to buy our house. We haven't had any past experience on what to look for, how the process works.. Mahmut facilitates the whole process for you. The first day we reach out to him, he run through all the process and made us feel better. He encouraged us to visit more open houses and he was always joining us(i.e. he isn't some virtual agent!). He is transparent and always on your side, you can feel that. Seeing that made us even more comfortable when we are searching the house we would call home! We put offers on two houses and Mahmut's ability to connect with the seller agent(and neighbors, you heard right!) put us in advantageous position among other offers. Mahmut is very knowledgeable and he undoubtedly knows the bay area market well. Particularly the south bay area.

He guided us throughout the entire project of purchasing our home and he really helped us in finding what we were looking for and without any compromises. For every home we visited, he showed us the strength and the weaknesses of the home, the street and the neighborhood.

He went through the home disclosures every time we showed interest in a property. He always had all major points highlighted and spared us from all the unnecessary details. This is a considerable amount of work knowing that disclosures can be couple of dozens pages. He has excellent appraising skills and can give a very accurate value of the property. He knew most of the listing agent of the homes we visited.

Mahmut Altun resolved all my issues throughout the home buying process and made me and my family feel like we are in good and safe hands. Getting a loan and finding someone that would really help us was harder than i could imagine. The lender was very helpful just because of Mahmut as he was dealing with the process more than I could and i honestly would give up if Mahmut was not helping us and directing us to the right people to resolve even personal issues. He acted like not as a real estate agent but more like a very close family friend. When we cleared out loan finding issues our home hunt started and we probably visited more than 150 houses. As mentioned at the beginning i have a hard personality especially for financial matters and the house i would should be at the price i want. Mahmut was very helpful in that respect and i felt i wasted a lot of his times but he was always encouraging and positive along the process. I did not honestly expect home buying process would be such a psychological battle and you gotta stay strong. So trust me, you need someone to keep you strong and felt being taken care of. Mahmut is that person. He is very transparent, explains you every tiny detail and provides you really great reasoning for proceed or not proceed with different properties. Mahmut recently helped me to buy a house in south bay. He has been amazing from day one. He asked me about my preferences, to the smallest detail. Was able to schedule showings during covid in a very tight schedule. Especially during a hot market, the good houses didn't stay on the market too long. Mahmut is an excellent real estate agent. I have always been intimidated by the Bay Area housing market and felt like we won't be able to buy at one point during our house hunting. We were planning to move to the Bay area and decided to buy our first house before moving. While looking for a realtor, one of my friends recommended Mahmut Altun. This was going to be our first home and we have no idea about how to find a house, make an offer or work with a mortgage banker. Mahmut Altun helped us a lot on each step, identifying our requirements, searching for homes, visiting houses, making an offer, finding best mortgage rates and renovations. He showed us several homes online and scheduled us in-house visits. We just need to point the house. He got all the information for us, showed the house online, talked to neighbors.
