Nelson Lin

Nelson oversees AQUILA’s research department, where he organizes and optimizes data to support marketing and other internal teams. He actively connects with other commercial real estate research teams throughout the Austin metro area to ensure AQUILA stays up to date on market trends and developments.

Before joining AQUILA, Nelson spent three years as a data scientist at Maymont Homes and Brookfield Asset Management. His tech background includes positions at Apple and Microsoft, where he honed his skills in data analysis and automation.

When he’s not analyzing market data, Nelson and his family own Soupleaf Hotpot, Austin’s first all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant. His restaurant roots run deep, and he often reflects on his journey: “I’m a retired child laborer in the Chinese restaurant industry. In case you’re curious about what happens to the 8-year-old at the cash register, we end up going into commercial real estate.”
