North Lamar Boulevard and Airport Boulevard are two main thoroughfares for the neighborhood. The area is less than 6 miles from downtown Austin and the University of Texas and about 12 miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Walkable and bikeable streets
Residents enjoy walking and biking along the streets of North Loop. Parents can take their kids to Shipe Neighborhood Park on Avenue G to play on the playground or cool off at the pool on hot summer days. Across the street is the Elisabet Ney Museum, the historic home and studio of the namesake German sculptor who moved to Austin in 1882. The museum and the park connect via the Elisabet Ney Museum Trail. Shoal Creek is north of the neighborhood and has walking and biking paths. The neighborhood is also close to Q2 Stadium, home to the Austin FC Major League Soccer team.
