About Peter
I have the pleasure of living and working in Charlottesville for the last ten years and am honored to be part of the Howard Hanna Roy Wheeler Realty real estate team.
I was born and raised in Bolivia, the son of missionary parents. I attended college and university in Massachusetts before returning to Bolivia, where I met my wife and raised two daughters. I worked for fifteen years as a journalist, photographer, film maker and social entrepreneur. In my free time I set up a foundation that developed two interactive children’s museums, and four cultural centers and implemented programs to empower people. My work as a journalist taught me the importance of communications, teamwork, having a warm and friendly approach to work, and meeting deadlines.
In 2008 I moved to Washington DC to run an international foundation and then to Egypt to work at the Grand Egyptian Museum as a fundraising specialist.
When my wife and I moved from Egypt to Charlottesville to be near our daughter, son-in-law and twin grandchildren, we settled into our home in Belmont where we thoroughly enjoy being part of this vibrant and friendly community. I also worked as development officer at Habitat for Humanity where I learned a great deal about affordable housing and the process of financing and purchasing a home.
In addition to being a real estate professional, I provide workshops for the Department of State on innovation, entrepreneurship and resource mobilization. I am the past president of the Albemarle Rotary Club and board member of the Albemarle Rotary Foundation. I work on the club’s small charities grant program that supports amazing non-for-profit organizations that serve the greater Charlottesville Community. I am also a member of the board of the Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors Foundation and the Central Virginia branch of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals.
I have decades of experience financing and building commercial, residential and cultural projects, and have a great deal of experience of working in many sectors of the real estate markets, including affordable housing and commercial real estate. I also have a good understanding of construction materials, home design, the use of renewable energies, accessibility and structuring real estate financing operations.
Through my work as a licensed Real Estate professional, I enjoy combining my professional interests, international experience and dedication to family and the community. My goal is to help individuals and families find a place they can call home or sell a place that allows them to move on to other homes, communities or countries.
As a licensed Real Estate professional, I am committed to providing excellent and personalized service to property owners and renters. With the support of the excellent and committed team at Howard Hanna Roy Wheeler, we can provide marketing information, personalized service and connect with service providers who can help manager your real estate property, structure financing, remodel a home, and in the end provide our clients the best value for their money.
