A Boulder resident for over 20 years, Portia moved from Southern California to join her soon-to-be-husband and Boulder native, Chris, in Boulder, where she enjoys the outdoors and assisting her extensive network of family and friends in their real estate needs.
In 2006, following a career in advertising and marketing, Portia decided to pursue a new profession - real estate. She believes her years of building relationships, conducting research, developing marketing plans, and creating advertising collateral is a nice compliment to the real estate business. Portia also feels her experience brings valuable insight and expertise to meet the needs and expectations of savvy buyers and sellers in today's rapidly changing environment.
Portia started her real estate career in a small boutique office located in downtown Boulder where she gained valuable experience working as an assistant to one of Boulder's most successful female Realtors in the business. For just over one year, she played an integral role in selling some of Boulder's most prominent properties. In 2007, Portia decided it was time to start building her own business. Her background in advertising and marketing, along with her many contacts in the Boulder community came in handy. She obtained her first listing via a referral from a very good friend. It was a challenging one, as the house was located on a somewhat busy thoroughfare in Boulder, and Portia listed it for over $1,000,000 (which would be the most expensive house on this street). Still, she was able to get an offer in 5 days and closed it in 30 days at close to the list price. Not a bad way to start her career in real estate. She was hooked.
Portia is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the areas she lives in and has lived in, particularly the Chautauqua and North Boulder neighborhoods. She has successfully sold numerous properties in these neighborhoods over the past 12 years.
With over 20 years of experience in advertising and marketing, Portia has the ability to effectively market your home, at the right time, to the appropriate audience, in a creative way.
When not selling real estate Portia enjoys hiking, skiing, snowshoeing with her husband, friends, and her black Labrador Retriever: Cooper. She also likes to cook and entertain, and to spend vacations on beaches and the slopes.
In 2010, Portia co-founded Holes of Hope, a golf tournament held annually at Lake Valley Golf Course in Niwot, to benefit the Tebo Cancer Center in Boulder. All net proceeds are donated to the Boulder Community Hospital Foundation for exclusive use by the Tebo Cancer Center. In the past 10 years, the event has raised over $350,000.
