As a licensed Realtor and Broker Salesperson in Nevada, Rick Eaton co-owns and serves as Business Manager of Real Estate In Nevada, an independent boutique brokerage that has closed more than $126 million in sales volume. Rick oversees administrative operations, marketing strategy, financial management, and transaction coordination while maintaining select clientele who value discretion, precision, and results.

Before transitioning to real estate, Rick built a distinguished 40+ year state & federal law enforcement and national security career that honed the skills today’s high-stakes real estate client’s demand.

Leadership & Management — Rick is a retired federal law enforcement executive (DOJ & DHS). Rick then served as cabinet-level Director of Nevada Homeland Security under Governor Jim Gibbons and subsequently as the Department of Homeland Security’s regional advocate for intelligence-sharing programs covering six western states.

Contract Expertise & Negotiation — As a former certified Federal Contracting Officer supervising a unit that negotiated multi-million-dollar government contracts, Rick’s meticulous contract review, risk mitigation, and negotiation experience ensure every agreement is sound and maximally advantageous for his clients.

Risk Assessment & Due Diligence — Decades as a federal law enforcement officer, Force Recon-trained Marine Scout (including service in Okinawa & Vietnam), and Coast Guard Reserve Special Agent sharpened Rick’s ability to identify hidden risks and protect clients’ interests. He approaches every transaction with the investigative thoroughness that once safeguarded national security.
Rick’s background enables him to keep transactions on track and close smoothly even in challenging markets, as well as operating with ethics and confidentiality.

Education & Credentials - Bachelor’s Degree - major in Psychology with minors in Business Administration and Criminal Justice – Chaminade University of Honolulu. Senior Executive Fellow – Harvard University Kennedy School of Government; Private Pilot & additional ratings. Former law enforcement martial arts instructor.

Community & Family - A lifelong Boy Scouts volunteer, Rick helped raise Eagle Scout son Marshall now age 22 (UNR BS Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace/Mathematics; MBA 2024). Rick and his wife Nanette Fink Eaton — a native Nevadan and Principal Broker at Real Estate In Nevada LLC — have deep community roots. Rick currently serves on the Board for the Harvard Alumni Cub of Northern Nevada.
