Shannon Ray loves people – that’s apparent from the moment you meet her! It also explains why she minored in Hotel Hospitality and pivoted from a possible teaching career to help launch one of Silicon Valley’s top hotel chains. Shannon’s focus on serving clients started early, from working in the restaurant industry to becoming a top producer at Nordstrom Palo Alto to facilitating tradeshow appearances for Silicon Valley start-ups. Shannon thrives on making authentic, genuine connections with her clients to help them have the best possible experience.
Shannon has the Peninsula covered: she was born in Burlingame into a large, well-known Bay Area family (ask her what her maiden name was) and grew up in Los Altos, where she enjoyed her extensive extended family and top schooling. After years of post-college traveling, Shannon settled in Los Gatos in 2003 and hasn’t left. She has been selling real estate here since 2008.
Real estate came naturally to Shannon after being involved with the National Hockey League Association for over 10 years – Shannon has probably moved more than any of her relocation clients! Her favorite homes were in Toronto, Minnesota, Chicago, Indiana, Germany, and Japan!
Shannon has never met an open house she didn’t like. Many in the industry refer to her as the master of the open house craft. She draws energy from interacting with the broad array of people walking through the front doors. She loves welcoming people into her listings and more importantly into her community. She has a talent for connecting her clients to high school teachers, soccer coaches, golf lessons, hairdressers, and restaurants, to name a few. Being well-connected has greatly benefited Shannon’s clients, especially when negotiating for them.
Married at La Rinconada Country Club in Los Gatos (on the first tee, of course!), Shannon enjoys her club and community, playing an afternoon round of golf here and there and taking her clients out on the green. She and her husband, Chris Ray (also a Realtor), have a modern blended family with two boys and two girls. They have successfully put four kids through college, all simultaneously!
Shannon’s hard work has led to a sales record that consistently places her in the top 1-5 percent, year after year. When she’s not working hard for her clients, playing a round of golf, or enjoying her family, you might catch her at a concert pursuing her other love: Country Music!
