Trailside Elementary, home of the Timberwolves, is a public elementary school that serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Opened in 2000, Trailside has an annual average enrollment of 310 students. It is in Anchorage’s Abbott Loop neighborhood, next to Service High School and near the Far North Bicentennial Park system. Its location provides stunning views of the Chugach Mountains from the school playground and opportunities for outdoor education. The school is home to the annual Trailside Triathlon and Hit the Trails community run.
Trailside Elementary’s curriculum incorporates technology, the arts, outdoor education, a healthy lifestyle and character building into its core academic subjects. Faculty and staff work hard to instill a love of learning in students, encouraging them to try their best and celebrate their successes. Students can supplement their learning by participating in a variety of academic, sports and social activities before, during and after school.
Trailside Elementary encourages families to serve as active partners with the school. Parents are active participants in the classroom and as part of the school’s PTA. Together, teachers, administrators and parents work to make Trailside one of Anchorage’s most coveted public schools.

Trailside Elementary is a one of the best neighborhood schools. Great community, amazing teachers, beautiful library, excellent PE program with swim lessons, caring and ready to learn students, and a very active and effective PTA.

Trailside is the best. I am saddened we may have to move and my children won't be able to continue here. It is a great atmosphere, the teachers are AWESOME. Trailside is a hard act to follow! Great school! Great teachers!
