My experience at Athol high school has been pretty ridiculous. The staff is rather unprofessional and disorganized. I try to stay few steps ahead in my education, as I am now used to unexpected setbacks. most students are not interested in an education and they cause a lot of issues in school. It is a small school and the kids who act out make it harder for the rest of us. The staff throughout the entire district lacks empathy and proper training. They hardly treat us like people, keeping the bathrooms closed during most of the day and fitting the role of superiority over helpers for us that want it. there are a few good aspects and good staff, such as the class advisors. although they have a lot going on and can lose track of things, they are also responsible for great changes in my school.this year they have provided me with multiple classes from Mount Wachusett Community College, through the dual enrollment process. this upcoming senior year we have an early college program as well.

I went there for a year as a senior (class of 2023). I was in a hard place mentally. They worked on improving my mental health before my academics. This was a turning point for me. My mental health and academics sky rocketed. I graduated with high honor roll and was able to get into my dream college and with many scholarships to cover the cost. The students though do have many fights and drug dogs because of our schools drug use issue were there often meaning we would stop class to sit there and get checked for about a hour.

Athol High school is an okay public school, it was a great school for many years but has recently declined in some aspects. Especially in the teaching abilities.

It was so sad to watch all of the adults and leaders involved in running Athol High School focus more on the removal of their schools mascot and even the moniker more than their students, grades and education.

Nice building, the leadership does not take responsiblity for the issues. They claim to be working on improvement but I see no action. I do believe that they just show up for their paycheck. I am disgusted in the number of issues I have had to go to the Principal or Vice Principal about. My student...

I would rate my experience at this school as a scar inducing nightmare. The emotional toll that it had on me was devastating as a teenager, and was an experience that I'll never be able to forget.
