Rutledge Elementary is a first-rate Leander ISD school serving pre-K through fifth graders in Avery Ranch. It was also Austin Family Magazine’s reader’s pick for the best public school of 2022. Much of Rutledge’s success is due to its unique approach. Rutledge uses the “seven highly-effective habits” to help students take charge of their potential. This acclaimed program helps develop self-reliance, perseverance and thoughtfulness even in very young students. Rutledge’s curriculum aligns with the district’s high standards and focuses on language arts, math, science and social studies fundamentals. Spanish, art, music and P.E. are also woven into students’ days. A few of the school’s enrichment activities include the Chorale Club, Culture of Caring Club and Ukulele Club. Students can also participate in the international, creative problem-solving competition, Destination Imagination. They share their unique talents at the school’s annual spring show. At Rutledge Elementary School, every student learns they have what it takes to create, achieve and lead.
