Established in 1980, Austin Waldorf School is a fully accredited member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and serves more than 380 students from prekindergarten through12th grade. The curriculum, based on the Waldorf educational method, is designed to meet each stage of each student’s development, from early childhood into young adulthood. Class sizes are small, and lesson plans are crafted to meet the needs and interests of each student. The campus is located on 19 beautiful acres in the Clarksville neighborhood and students spend a lot of time working in and studying nature. A great deal of emphasis is placed on providing a whole-child education at Austin Waldorf School, weaving artistic and creative thinking into academic and practical courses. Students are taught two foreign languages as well as music, handwork, woodwork, blacksmithing, fine arts and drama. Austin Waldorf students compete in a variety of sports, including volleyball, cross country, basketball, tennis and golf. Students are closely involved in the larger community, participating in service projects and work experience programs, all geared toward fostering a sense of responsibility outside the classroom.

My daughter has attended the Austin Waldorf School for 3 years and we've had a very positive experience. When she arrived in the school my child was generally shy and unsure. Now she has many friends and goes happily to school every day. Her teacher is strict but very caring and my daughter loves her. I love the small-school community.
