Its AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) system builds the organizational skills and leadership capacity of participating students, designed to equip them with the tools they need to be successful students in high school and college as well as educated global citizens. AVID students eagerly participate in college awareness programs and visit various college and university campuses. Suva Intermediate’s new AVID Excel Elective helps English language learners develop academic language proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening to become college and career ready. The school also promotes opportunities for extracurricular activities in world languages, robotics, visual and performing arts, and leadership and character development. Suva Intermediate’s #KINDNESS initiative teaches students about the importance of being kind, working hard and achieving their own academic goals. Its “Seal of Biliteracy” on the transcript or diploma of the graduating senior is a statement of accomplishment for future employers as well as for college admissions.

My experience in Suva was good due to the fact I got a chance to meet amazing people in my life and learned a lot from my experiences there. For example, I learned that we should take responsibility for our actions and also respect every people. A complain is that their is this teacher that lost all of our work and will always blame it on us but when we always told her to check she did and found our list work and that will get me upset because it affected my grade.

Suva Intermediate is not the problem. Parents need to get more involved in their children's education at home, after school and during the weekends. If the parents have a minimal education, at least they can check and make sure their kids are doing the homework everyday.
