Benson Elementary School is another struggling school in NC that is trying their best with what little they have. A large amount of students come from lower income families so breakfast / lunch are free, this is encouraged by staff. No after school activities ( Sports or Clubs ). PTA always trying to raise money for school facility improvements. Teachers are working hard for the students and push progress. This past year many teachers left to move to better equipped schools in more funded school.
