My favorite part about Waring is the community. The majority of students are supportive, respectful and accepting.

Excellent community values, an overall quirky but lovely high school experience, surrounded by others who genuinely care about learning.

As a former student, the Waring school was an excellent place to attend high school as it was a fostering environment for the discussion of ideas as well as preparation for college studies. Academics are top notch but when I was there it was predominantly white. (over 90%). I am not sure if this has changed since then (mid 2000's) but if Waring were to attract minority students, having their viewpoints in the Waring community would grow and help the school. That being said, everything else was great to stellar in terms of metrics. I often dwell on my time at Waring and remember all of the good memories I had with other students and faculty. I miss them all. 4 stars because there is always room for improvement.

While there are graded tests and assessments in some classes, overall grades aren't given. Instead the teachers provide thoughtful written evaluations for each class. E...

I agree with the January 15 and September 2014 postings. The changing of the guard did not have a negative impact on the school.
