Garfield Elementary School has served the Boise school district since 1910 and built a legacy of providing quality education and resources to Southeast Boise students from pre-kindergarten through the sixth grade.
At Garfield Elementary, teachers are dedicated to “educating today's children for a better tomorrow" by "graduating each student ready for college, career, and citizenship."
While this Title-1 school's student performance is below the state average in math, reading, and science, the school's English language learning programs, culture, and diversity are second to none.
The Garfield Grizzlies learn to practice safety, be respectful and responsible, do their best, and care for everyone.
Garfield Elementary School's campus features many amenities, including modern classrooms, an extensive library, a cafeteria, athletic courts, two playgrounds, a full gymnasium, and an expansive recreation field.
Students enjoy the comprehensive music program, which includes orchestra, band, and general music training, and the 6th Grade annual field trips to venues, including The Peaceful Belly Farm, Urban Gardens, and Celebration Park.
Parents appreciate the complimentary breakfast and lunch program available for all students, the friendly teaching staff, and the parent-teacher organization that oversees several school events, including the "Garfield Fundraiser Night" at the Lowe Family Farmstead.
