The Lake Hazel Elementary School Lions sprang to life in 1974 and have since served as the school's mascot, exemplifying the values of respect, responsibility, safety and kindness. Lake Hazel Elementary School serves kindergarten through fifth-grade students by providing a safe and caring environment to ensure all students learn and grow. The campus provides modern classrooms, a dedicated challenge room, a resource center, a library and a "Positive Behavior Intervention" program where students receive school-wide support to develop social skills and meet behavior expectations. The school also offers computer labs where kids can learn computer code and use STEM skills in a fun and interactive environment. Lake Hazel Elementary hosts five playgrounds on campus, numerous athletic courts and an expansive recreation field. As an active "Fuel Up to Play 60" school, Lake Hazel Elementary rewards students for healthy eating habits and physical activity that encourages problem solving and teamwork. Students love the school's "Readers on A Roll" program, which consistently sees the student body improve its reading comprehension each year. Parents appreciate the teaching and administrative staff who take the time to get to know each child’s name and focus on building an inclusive school community.

My son has loved his teachers at this school and is learning so much, that is not the issue. Some of these teachers though are outright disrespectful. They are on a huge power trip.

For the past five years, my child has thrived at this school, consistently earning awards for respectfulness, kindness, and a willingness to help. My child has attended LHE for 5 years and we've been happy with this school and the staff. We've had good teachers and there are always fun events and extra curricular activities for kids and families.
