At Lowell Scott Middle School, students are inspired to be like their mascot, the charger, and strive to learn and achieve future success. Centrally located in Boise's West Valley neighborhood, Lowell Scott Middle School has served sixth through eighth grade students for decades and commemorates former superintendent Lowell Scott. Here, educators and administrators strive to ensure every student is given the resources, support and academic skills needed to succeed in the classroom and life. Student performance is above the state average in math, reading and science.
The school's campus offers students a wide range of amenities, including modern classrooms, a gymnasium, a dedicated music room, a multimedia library, an Olympic-style track, six tennis courts and an expansive recreation field. Young athletes will thrive in one of the school's many athletic programs, including volleyball, tennis, cross-country, wrestling, football, baseball and basketball. Arts-inclined kids can participate in the writer's club, orchestra, band and choir. The electives and after-school programs are also popular, featuring visual and fine arts classes, a chess club, a skateboarding club and the National Junior Honor Society. Teaching staff at Lowell Scott work with parents to ready their kids for success with the Charger Camp orientation day and provide multiple opportunities to volunteer in the active parent-teacher organization. My wife and I are happy with Lowell Scott for our kids. They are doing well academically and have met a nice group of kids there. Administration has been helpful and teachers are great. The only negative is that the buildings are very old and seem to need work and updating.

The administration would have a lot less violations to worry about if they weren't so strict. They stand at the end of the hall every day at break and pull people aside to cite.
