Whitney Elementary School entered the Boise School District in 1923. As the city grew, the school improved its facilities, curriculum and resources to meet expanding needs. In 2019, the school was granted a new building and campus on Owyhee Street including modern classrooms, a full gymnasium, separate kitchen and dining halls and a dedicated music room. Whitney Elementary serves students in pre-K through sixth grade. The elementary school also offers two playgrounds, a basketball court and a large recreation field connected to the Whitney Community Center where after-school learning and fun go together. Educators at Whitney Elementary strive to foster kindness and respect while building a stronger community through quality education in a safe environment. Kids also cheer on the Wolverines boys and girls track team. Students engage in academics that include a robust dual language program, music, S.T.E.M-based science and math lessons and a G.A.T.E. program that caters to gifted and talented students. Whitney Elementary School hosts the Boise School District's signature Boise pre-K Project, where young learners are introduced to colors, shapes, numbers and literacy skills which significantly impact their academic success as they mature. Students also enjoy free homework assistance, youth sports and art and gardening activities on campus after school. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and support the school throughout the year, ensuring Whitney Elementary can continue to meet children's educational needs in the future.

This school has a huge problem with bullying. They do not actually help at all in regards to it. My self and other parents have had to call the SRO over the area to try to get it to stop. Becca Anderson at the district level will not return parents phone calls in regards to the bullying either. I lw...

I have been at Whitney for 5 years now the new building is amazing. Every teacher puts a special touch when teaching their students. I have had my expectations exceeded every year. I cannot wait for my other two daughters to start attending.
