The Berkeley Carroll School is a private school in Brooklyn, NY. One of the oldest college prep schools in New York City, the first informal classes were held in 1883. The school serves the Park Slope neighborhood, with children in kindergarten through 12th grade attending the school. Today, the school is ranked among the top 25 best private K-12 schools in New York.
The student-to-teacher ratio is 6:1. Small class sizes provide individual attention and surround students with encouragement.
Students are offered rigorous academic learning with arts and athletics. With 32 extracurriculars and 26 electives, student life is vibrant. Sports competition starts in the 7th grade, and there are 39 teams for fall, winter, and spring sports, including but not limited to volleyball, soccer, cross country, basketball, track and field, baseball, and softball.
The school has top-tier athletic facilities, including a four-lane, 75-foot swimming pool, two full-size gyms, a mezzanine area for fitness and strength training, and two play yards.
Berkeley Carroll motivates students to push themselves, try new things, find their passions, and find their voices through academics, the arts, athletics, and student life. The academic curriculum strongly emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach in which professors and students work together.

Being at Berkeley Carroll was an interesting experience, to say the least. I learned a lot and was able to get out of my comfort zone and stuff, however; I was faced with a decent amount of racist people and situations during my education here.

I can't overstate how much I love BC. The atmosphere there is really great, and it doesn't matter if you are new to the school or not, you will always have someone who supports you. I have loved my experience (so far). All my teachers care so much not just about how well we do, but about us as humans. I feel like BC is my second home, because whenever I approach the school, I have a sense of community, a sense that everyone who enters that building is going to be accepted, and that is a really nice feeling. Again, I just cannot overstate how good my experience has been at BC. I would give it 100 stars if I could.
