St. Bernadette Catholic Academy is a private elementary school in Dyker Heights that provides prekindergarten through eighth grade students with a faith-based education.
The school uses a comprehensive curriculum that includes academics, religion, fine arts, music, physical education and extracurricular activities. In addition, St. Bernadette Catholic Academy is a technology-focused school. The campus has two science labs and incorporates science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, learning into the curriculum. Students in third through eighth grade have Chromebook access to use Google Classroom.
Students can also participate in various clubs and organizations, including drama, choir, chess club, dance team, band, volleyball, basketball, softball, soccer, track, cross country, and cheerleading. The school also provides opportunities for enrichment, such as art classes, computer science, foreign languages and robotics.
The school offers early childhood education and extended care options. There is also a 54-session parent and child program, providing socialization activities to help with education development and build the school community.

There is alot of favoritism in this school. They hire many teachers and staff who are relatives or good friends with parents. Who knows if these people are even qualified. So of course their kids are considered special. There's also no point to putting your kid in this school after nursery because the parents get to know each other and become friends with all the teachers and you will be odd man out. Those parents and their kids are the only ones that matter. There are cliques and there's no way inside of them. You and your kids will be left out and have less opportunities. The academics are the same as anywhere else. They give alot of homework that is really just doing the same thing over and over. Which I thought was not necessary when they could have been advancing. It was a bad decision putting my kids in here and I regretted it for a long time but at glad I took them out sooner than later.

My child attended for a short time but we left because education needed to be bumped up & teachers don’t really push the kids. Parents are cliquish and not very open to others. Not the friendliest, warmest environment for little ones.
