In 2019, the David Starr Jordan Middle School was renamed the Dolores Huerta Middle School in honor of civil rights activist Dolores Huerta, who co-founded the National Farmworkers Association with Cesar Chavez. The Dolores Huerta Middle School is a public elementary school in the Burbank Unified School District and is located at 420 South Mariposa Street. The student population totals 1,056 students and the school serves sixth through eighth grades.
