Since 1998, Creative Technologies Academy has served West Michigan as a competitive charter school in Cedar Springs. Dr. DeWayne Coxon and Niels Andersen, two community leaders, founded the school that was granted a charter by Ferris State University. Today, the school provides kindergarten through 12th grade education to a small, dedicated community of learners. Small class sizes, experienced teachers and a curriculum focused on cutting-edge technology help make Creative Technologies Academy a thriving school in Cedar Springs. Students can work with school administration to receive an individualized lesson plan, which modifies the Michigan Merit Curriculum to provide instruction focused on leadership and personal strengths. A growing list of sports and clubs provides students with athletic and artistic outlets. Creative Technologies Academy Chargers compete in middle school and varsity sports, including basketball, volleyball, soccer, cross-country and cheerleading. Students can join the National Honor Society or audition for a fall theater production. For young women in fifth through 12th grade, the Legacy Tribe group helps with self-empowerment and leadership skills. Creative Technologies Academy offers early childhood opportunities for the area’s youngest learners as part of the Great Start Readiness Program.

I graduated in 2016 as salutatorian. My class size was around 35 students. I enjoyed the smaller teacher to student ratio.

A small school, with very small classroom sizes. The small class sizes are good if you need one on one time with the teacher. I graduated from their online high school program which is a GREAT option in my opinion. It allowed me to graduate early.

The teachers were nice and all, but we had 2 in a row that were really rude and weren't very knowledgeable. Two other teachers were nice in the "I'm very funny" way, only one teacher actually cared about the students.

Poor experience. At first it was good but things have changed new administration and it has not been for the better. Is so sad because it has the potential to be a great school but there focus has changed and it’s definitely not on the education and we’ll being of the children

I am a 2013 graduate from CTA, and can't express how much that school has helped me and my future goals. The teachers were always willing to help and really wanted me to succeed. Many of them are still my good friends! The small school allowed me to participate in sports and that is an experience ev...

My granddaughters all started at CTA last year. I just wanted to let you know that I am very happy with your school and how the kids like it so much too. One of the things that impressed me so much was how the teachers all seemed to know the children and where they belonged who their parents were an...
