Students in Cedar Springs take their first steps in middle school at Red Hawk Intermediate School. Formerly known as Red Hawk Elementary, this Cedar Springs Public School enrolls only sixth grade students, creating a unique environment as they prepare for middle and high school. Red Hawk Intermediate teachers are highly rated in the district and promote the core values of safety, honesty, respect and responsibility. As proud Red Hawks, sixth graders can participate in nine sports teams, from football to track. Extracurricular clubs are organized by teachers and students, like the Student Leadership Council, where Red Hawks can participate in a democratic body to make a difference in their school. Students at Red Hawk Intermediate also fundraise for important local and national organizations. Located on the north edge of the three-building elementary school campus, Red Hawk Intermediate is in a convenient location just south of downtown Cedar Springs. Graduates of Red Hawk Intermediate move on to Cedar Springs Middle School for seventh and eighth grade education.
