Charles Hay World School in an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme School. Kindergarten through grade 6 benefit from this unique inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning. Curriculum stems from students’ questions, and this method is taught worldwide in over 140 countries. With a global emphasis, the focus is on acquiring essential knowledge and skills that incorporate meaningful action into everyday living. The result is students that can think critically and become responsible citizens.
Over 350 students attend Charles Hay, located at 1221 East. Eastman Avenue in Englewood. Charles Hay aims to cultivate globally-aware learners and promote curiosity, inquiry, knowledge acquisition, and collaboration to strive for personal excellence. Each student is issued an iPad to help with instruction and homework.
What makes Charles Hay unique outside of being the only IB Certified school in Englewood is that each student is taught Spanish as a second language. All students take PE, art, and music year-round and are provided opportunities for service-learning experiences. They have multiple afterschool clubs to choose from, including crafts, exercise, sports, games to coding!
Breakfast and lunch are available onsite. If needed, students can utilize comprehensive support services in special education, culturally and linguistically diverse needs, and gifted education.
