Named after Sarah Elisabeth Goode, a former slave and 19th-century inventor, the Goode STEM Academy offers students a world-class education that prepares them for the technological jobs of the future. Serving grades 9 through 12, Goode STEM Academy seeks to build a learning culture that nurtures creativity and sparks imagination.
One of Chicago Public Schools' Early College STEM Schools, Goode connects high school students to college learning for a seamless transition. Goode hosts collaborative programs with both IBM and Daley College, allowing students to learn job skills and earn college credit while still in high school. Graduates of Goode Academy often go on, after college, to successful careers in fields like software development and mechanical engineering.
With an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math, students experience a well-rounded curriculum, as well as numerous opportunities for extracurricular activities. Competitive sports include baseball, football, coed softball and basketball. Events include the annual STEM Fest, which highlights projects created by students in all grades. Parents are encouraged to join the Parent Advisory Council, a virtual and in-person community dedicated to helping parents become an integral part of their student’s education.

My overall experience at Goode Stem Academy High School has both been sour and sweet. The downside of the school would have to be the constant fighting, rude teachers, and, weed infused bathrooms. The bright side of attending Goode was that they provided you college classes if you tested well. I was able to test well and was able to be put in college classes. I also got the chance the meet a few of my favorite teachers that taught me great lesson I will take with me to the outside world.

It's a cool school a lot of fights happen over stupid stuff but it's high school so you can't really expect kids to do what they're supposed since they think they can do whatever they want.

It's has been a great experience being in a stem school and having the chance to take early college class is amazing. You get the opportunity to take college level classes and this is a great way to earn college credit for college. The teachers are the best people to talk to if you have questions of need in there class.
