A Chicago Archdiocese campus, St. Richard’s Elementary serves fourth through eighth grade students while pre-kindergarten through third grade is offered at nearby St. Bruno's Elementary. Founded in 1947 as part of the St. Richard’s Parish, the school offers faith-based education and rigorous academics. This institute offers a diverse curriculum guided by Illinois Learning Standards and state-wide common core principles. Coursework includes religion, language arts, math, science, social studies and technology. St. Richard’s provides a safe, orderly learning environment that encourages upper-grade students to both learn and think critically about their beliefs. Students prepare for high school success through developing strength of character and pursuit of lifelong learning. Tuition is affordable, with many students receiving financial aid and scholarship opportunities. Excellent teachers, augmented by community and parental involvement, help inspire and challenge students. Activities and clubs include student council, scouting, choir, dance, patrol and running. A dynamic sports program offering soccer, volleyball and basketball not only increases student athletic abilities but teaches sportsmanship and character building. I am an alumni of St. Richard school, and I definitely was not prepared for high school coursework.
