In keeping with its motto, “Being the Best of the Best,” Owen Scholastic Academy’s vision is to empower all students to achieve their maximum potential. Named after one-time Chicago Board of Education president, William Bishop Owen, Owen Scholastic is a Chicago Public School magnet campus that strives toward rigorous data-driven instruction to develop a child’s academic, emotional and social skills.
With a population of 267 students drawn from all areas of the city, Owens Scholastic Academy students continually rank well on national standardized tests. Students in pre-K through 8th grade receive a solid foundation of reading and math skills. Owens also offers access to state-of-the-art labs and master teachers.
Extracurricular programs include athletics, debate, reading and math Millionaire's Clubs, Six Flags Read to Succeed and Study Island. Owens also places an emphasis on community engagement and relationships, offering both students and parents opportunities to get involved in their school and local communities.

Terrible. Unfortunately this school is very very terrible and dangerous for children. The principle tries the best she can and is a wonderful woman however the entire staff otherwise is absolutely horrendous and EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! I took my child out of this place quickly. -5 stars.
