Huy Elementary School is a public school located in the heart of North Linden. It offers a traditional elementary school education to students in kindergarten through fifth grade but also offers classes in sign language as well as special services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This is called the A.G. Bell Program. The program draws about 220 students from approximately 30 different school districts. A.G. Bell students interact with their teachers, work independently and collaborate with other students in small groups. They read aloud, study math and engage in all the other core courses of a standard elementary school curriculum. Bell students also, however, gain access to a portfolio of life-changing resources, including speech therapy, sign language interpreters, amplification, instructional assistants, work-study services and counseling. From communication and academics to physical activities and emotional growth, students are cared for and supported throughout all areas of their lives. The A.G. Bell program falls under the Columbus Hearing Impaired Program (CHIP). Preschool and kindergarten students who have hearing impairment also participate in CHIP on the Huy Elementary campus. Students from both the traditional Huy campus as well as the Bell program are offered the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities, such as field trips, the chess club, the book fair and the sign language choir. All Huy students are encouraged to learn sign language. The school has a computer lab, interactive white boards and access to about 60 laptops. Working together, the A.G. Bell Program, Columbus Hearing Impaired Program and Huy Elementary School inspire students to respect diversity and reach their highest potential.

Huy is too lazy to shovel the side walks for the kids. Why are the kids walking in the street? The school had like 4 extra days to do something about it while to kids were out for snow days.
