school lacks a wide variety of ap's, compared to other schools in the district. also has such low competitivness within the student body, making it unbearable to go to school. most of the math and science teachers arent very good, with really easy tests and quizzes that does not extract the best students compared to schools like lynbrook and monta vista. ela and language buildings are really outdated, esp the bathrooms, which are impossible to use. pe teachers are a joke of subject. for your best interests, i recommend you go to cupertino, monta vista, and lynbrook high for a better environment. everything you learn in ela as a freshman is just the same thing taught in 5th grade, what a joke. i have no clue how this school is ranked 38 in the state, with such a deplorable and unacademically bright students.

Overall, HHS is a good school. Be prepared for at least one grade to have no school spirit—and not amazing math teachers. The academics are not bad, but it can be difficult to keep up in classes unless you've been trained specifically to do well in school.

Homestead's a mixed bag. The facilities that have been renovated are nice, but those that haven't yet (English, world language/ELD, and performing arts buildings) feel really dated. The student body has a lot of overachievers, but also a lot of chronic class-cutters.

The single biggest problem is the over promising, under performing administrative staff. The real workers--teachers, coaches--get little credit. They are the heroes. This is a top heavy, obtuse, overrated school. The students and their families are very committed. But the school itself is under serv...

This school is a unique type of evil. I was one of the top students at my old school and in this new one I am struggling just not to fail. The administration is the worst part of the school with you being suspended for minor things that shouldn't even get someone reprimanded like using the s-word. T...
