Homestead is a diverse environment with many clubs and activities, and we are known for good academics and many students going on to good colleges, but the environment gets too competitive with even teachers preferring students that overload their resume than students who work hard.

in my 4 years of attending Homestead High School there have been 3 bomb threats/school shooting threats. However, no one's actually done it. Diversity wise we have a lot of people of white, Asian, and Latino descent but only 12 Black students. The administration appears very friendly however when they have been told of LGBTQ+ discrimination they tend to take the side of the one who did the discrimination.

Overall it's a great school academically but could do a better job valuing the whole high school experience -- sports, clubs, and doing things for fun.

The single biggest problem is the over promising, under performing administrative staff. The real workers--teachers, coaches--get little credit. They are the heroes.
