Odyssey School of Denver is a Denver choice public school serving 235 students through the eighth grade. The school offers full day kindergarten and afterschool enrichment. It is located at 6550 E. 21st Ave. in the Park Hill neighborhood. The school opened in 1998, with a mission to offer an innovative school based on the principals of Expeditionary Learning. This systems values self-discovery and exploration, encouraging students to be responsible for their own learning. Students are presented with a compelling topic, and they then consult experts, do their own research and fieldwork, and present a product or performance. They may also perform a service in their community based on the topic. In addition, each year students participate in learning through an outdoor adventure. Beginning with fifth grade students, the transition to the next grade is marked by a presentation made by the student to staff and community members. The student articulates what they have learned and how they have grown, and the audience then provides feedback. This is to prepare students for future college and employment interviews. Free and reduced cost summer camps offered through the school keep students engaged over the break. Odyssey School of Denver shows real progress and success with this unorthodox approach to learning. Students consistently test well above average for the state of Colorado. Reviews of the school are overwhelmingly positive.

10/10 do not recommend. My older child went here we will not be sending the younger child and told family and friends to stay away.
