Eberhart Elementary School is located just north of Marquette Park and serves children from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade with an average enrollment of about 1,000 students.
Eberhart Elementary offers a dual language education program that teaches students in both Spanish and English. The program helps students form cognitive and linguistic abilities in both languages from a young age. Teachers participating in the program use the same curriculum as general education classrooms, but add specific units taught in Spanish before bridging over to English instruction and vice versa.
The school also has an Established Supportive School certification from Chicago Public Schools for its work around students' social and emotional learning.
Programs offered at the school include homework help, bilingual support and a writer's workshop. The school also hosts the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, otherwise known as JROTC.
With a variety of illuminating classes and extracurricular options offered, Eberhart Elementary School provides students with many opportunities to excel academically and socially.
