Dating back to its establishment in 1923, Encino Charter Elementary has been serving the San Fernando Valley for almost a century! Today, the school is run by principal Jennifer Haws.
Encino Charter Elementary School has several programs in place to ensure students are challenged and nurtured academically, including the Accelerated Reader program, The School for Advanced Studies, and Gifted and Talented Education. The school’s facilities, such the computer lab and the library, which was renovated just over a decade ago, also help students to grow academically and technologically.
After school classes with six week sessions are also available to help students ignite different passions and build special skills. Sewing, Robotics, Lego Stop Motion, and even Pokemon Club are a few examples of the wonderful programs students can participate in.
While academics are certainly prioritized at Encino Charter Elementary School, the school also helps students to grow their character through the CHARACTER COUNTS! principals and the six pillars of character.
While there are certainly some differences from the days in which the school first opened its doors almost a century ago, Encino Charter Elementary continues to provide its students with an excellent education built on rigorous and character building lessons.

I actually attended this school 1962-1968. It was pretty much great then, and I remember every teachers' name: Haag (K), Cusanovitch/Weiss (1), Holloway (2), Reese (3), Cain (4), Hawkins (5), Palmer (6 - -it was K-6 back then), Farnam (P). And sure, this review is ridiculously out of date. But wait...
