Fillmore Middle School is the only middle school in Fillmore Unified School District, serving six through eighth grades. Over 875 students attend the school which boasts three computer labs and a full size gymnasium. About one in five of Fillmore Middle School students are English language learners.
Fillmore Middle School’s visual and performing arts programs introduce students to the arts and equip them with a variety of skills as well as production and performance experience. Courses are offered in fine arts, digital media, instrumental music and theater arts. The instrumental music program includes beginning brass and woodwinds, percussion and strings, which can prepare students to join the school’s concert band or symphonic band.
Musicians in the symphonic band represent the Fillmore Middle School Bulldogs, who perform off-campus and during special trips throughout the year. Theater students participate in quarterly performances and take field trips to see live performances. Student actors can also play theater games and work on their performances in the school’s after-school drama club.
Additional electives and after school activities include associated student body and yearbook, while the school holds a yearly art show and a performance showcase each winter.

Attending FMS had its ups and downs. There were a lot of opportunities for students to join clubs and try new things, however the students are often treated like toddlers and don't have very much independence.

This school lacks empathy. The administrators do not do their job to hold the students accountable for their behavior. Too many bullies and not enough security. Too many people know each other here and there’s a lot of conflict of interest going on at this district. Do not send your children here.

Fillmore Middle School has a bullying problem that has not been resolved. Staff didn't believe that the "good students" were part of the problem. No consistency in principals or problem solving.
