GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I consistently saw things that I was impressed with, I.e. the administrative efforts to improve communal relations, athletic training programs and facilities, etc. However, I had many in person experiences with faulty teachers that did not set me up with the necessary skills to succeed in upper level core subjects.

I was involved in clubs and sports. There was a lot to offer here, depending on who you knew. I had great relationships with many staff and students. They offered SAT prep, Work Based Learning (which had resume and cover letter building), and many experiences and events.

Gainesville has lots of opportunities for students with a wide array of interests. It champions those who focus their high school career on academics and those who focus on extracurriculars like sports and clubs. I think it has a good selection of vigorous academic courses for all students to succeed. Overall, it doesn't have that much it can improve on.
