A public school for students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, Burk Elementary School is an Arizona state award-winning school. The Burk Bobcats are part of a community that challenges students to expand their learning skills. As a member of the Gilbert Public Schools District, the curriculum is integrated and hands-on and is based on STEM, language arts and social studies. Gifted programs give accelerated learners the ability to move forward in their academics. As a Title I school, special education is available with the goal of providing the necessary tools to ensure all students are successful at school and in the community. Gilbert Public Schools District has an adult education program for GED preparation classes as well. Student life is vibrant for the Burk Bobcats as clubs and activities provide space for personal growth and collaboration. Athletics build character and overall well-being for the students at Burk Elementary School with various sports played throughout the year. Summer camps and student enrichment field trips introduce new concepts and ideas for the students to explore. Elementary school students have access to digital citizenship classes to learn about safety and responsibility on the internet while music, art and the library engage the students in critical thinking skills. Choose any given week on the calendar and you will see a variety of extra-curricular activities. From after school clubs, to band, orchestra, student council, chess club, Math clubs, reading clubs, as well as regular fun runs, snow cone Fridays, and a variety of school wide events like festivals, movie nights, SkateLand parties, restaurant nights.

This is one of the older schools in the area, however, you would never know it. The school is constantly looking at ways to improve it's facilities and resources to keep up with today's needs and trends. While some things may need replaced (simply because the school is old), they are immediately replaced when needed with a high-quality alternative.
