From the years I have attended Gloucester High School as a student, I can say the school is nothing out of the ordinary. There are many good teachers that have a lot to share with students, however, there are some who lack the care at all. There is also a large support network depending on if you get just the right consoles and teachers, but not everyone is lucky enough. Additionally the college preparatory is non-existent for those who do not take rigorous class loads so it can leave others at a disadvantage.

Gloucester has many friendly people as well as people who make you dislike the county. There are lots of POC but not nearly as many white people. Not all of them make a difference in your high school experience but its the "bubbas" you should try to avoid. I've dealt with many conflicts related to politics and also just for being black. On the positive side, being a part of the arts was a great experience filled with welcoming students and staff.

Awful food, Some teachers genuinely care. SHortage of staff leading to poor quality. Not very comfortable. Not much fun to do, sports programs are bad.

GHS is a school riddled with problems. Many teachers aren't sufficiently knowledgeable in the subjects they teach. Teachers are often rude and defensive when questioned. The administration is weak, disengaged and inept. There are no standard procedures for instruction, or the assignment and grading...

Some of the teachers there are rude, underpaid, and ugly towards other students. It is way too crowded even with four lunches. They made it look like an asylum by covering all of the color on the walls with white paint. The food there is unhealthy, eating high fructose corn syrup at 7:00 am isn't wh...

I want to love this high school. We went out of our way to move to this district, but some of the staff are not helpful. Complaints are swept under the rug. Counselors don't listen to the parents or students at all, at least the one assigned to us. Some students are given preferential treatment. Whe...
