Horace Mann Elementary sits at the western edge of Lakewood on West Clifton Boulevard and serves approximately 250 prekindergarten through fifth grade students. The leadership of Horace Mann believes in instilling a sense of belonging, pride, and growth in every student. School administration empowers teachers to help children develop their own internal motivation and the ability to self-regulate, by clearly communicating expectations and celebrating successes.
The classrooms at Horace Mann provide multiple opportunities for technology use in daily education. In the music classroom, for instance, students connect headphones to their laptops to experience the work of great composers as they read biographies. Elsewhere within Horace Mann Elementary, students combine cameras with video editing software to learn the basics of stop motion animation.
The walls of Horace Mann Elementary showcase artwork created by students as they study the techniques of working with paint, pastels, watercolor, and pencils. Horace Mann’s student-hosted school news program gives students a behind-the-scenes look at video creation while sharing student news about awards, achievements, and upcoming opportunities.

My child has attended this school for 2 years now , and just entered his third. Aside from how nicely remodeled the school is, the teachers are fantastic ! The principle is probably the best in the city ! We love this school !!!!
