We left VWES for many red flags but just to mention two of them. Assistant principal Heather Jackson told us that teachers need to yell to control the classroom. 2nd grade teacher was yelling all day (at another child not mine) creating a stressful environment for the rest of the class. I am an employee at Van Wyck and it is, in my opinion, the best school ever. There is a constant energy of positivity and high expectations for learners. Folks are supportive and respectful of every person in the building. It’s truly a wonderful place.
