Eagle Rock Elementary offers magnet programs and provides education to early transition kindergarten through sixth grade children in the Eagle Rock neighborhood. The original elementary opened during 1884 and was operated inside a barn located on Addison Way. Then, it was rebuilt during 1921 when moved to the Fair Park Avenue address. Today the school hosts around 800 students each year and has a park-like environment with an edible garden, a seating area where benches are made out of whole trees and a modest lawn surrounded by outdoor activities. At Eagle Rock Elementary students are encouraged to become the best by nurturing critical thinking, balanced curriculums, physical play, focus on well-being and extra academics. Children have access to many programs and resources which help support their learning experiences. Such as advanced reading, mystery science, early language development, vocal music, dance and writer’s workshops. While online resources and interactive games help to strengthen skills and improve abilities through subject specific activities and free homework help. Student education at Eagle Rock Elementary is enhanced by the school's partnerships with a dance institute, orchestra and museum. Children also have opportunities to learn through the Kids Hope USA mentoring afterschool program and virtual summer school classes. The elementary school also encourages family involvement by sharing ideas in parent workshops and the school newspaper. The Egalitarian newspaper has stories to read, Family Friday games and snacks ideas, and more.

The overall atmosphere of the school is kind, the enthusiasm for education is great, and teachers observe and evaluate each child fairly. Parents' participation is passionate and active in school days and events. My child has been to three schools in LAUSD, and I was also good at comparing schools as a parent. I'm glad this school transferred to the last school and we are so satisfied.

Awful. We have a great relationship with some parents and their kids as well as some of the faculty and staff that we will miss dearly. Other than that I what else can I say about the principal Mr. Leach? She's a terrible principal especially when dealing with bullying. Main reason we aren't there t...

She loves school and feels proud to be a student. She has had many opportunities to participate in after-school clubs and the after-sc...
