I had a wonderful time at George K Porter Middle School. I made all of my friends there and the teachers always prepared us for college, not so much high school. The teachers are aged and I think it shows because they dont put full effort into their lessons. Saftey is mediocre.

My daughter has stated that the interactions of students during recess is like an 'R' rated movie. Students use alot of foul language.

Our son is having a good experience in the Gifted Magnet at Porter. His teachers have a lot of experience and creative classroom activities. ISchool leadership is seasoned and responsible. They do not follow IEPs as written for special needs students. The person in charge of the special education department does not respond to phone calls or emails about concerns. The facilities are also lacking.
