Yorkdale Elementary provides education to kindergarten through sixth grade students of the Eagle Rock neighborhood. Situated on a city block at Meridian Street, the campus serves around 250 students each year. The elementary school is also host to the EduCare Foundation summer camp where children are motivated and empowered to become tenderhearted leaders and responsible citizens. The campus at Yorkdale Elementary promotes a village-like environment where everyone works together to help students achieve their greatest educational development. Promoting a small schoolhouse feel, educators strive to create a stimulating learning environment that encourages progress for every child. Consistent curriculum and student recognition enable students to excel and do their personal best everyday. At Yorkdale Elementary, children who are accelerated readers can progress even more with the advanced learning resources available to students. The musically inclined students can join the youth voices music program. When children are outside they are encouraged to develop friendships and participate in team activities such as volleyball or basketball. If parents seek to become involved they can participate in the school’s volunteer program, tech talk group meetings or workshop events to help children perform well in school. The community learning environment, education systems and parent interaction are a few of the ways how Yorkdale Elementary successfully equips students for college and career.
