My children have been at Southgate School for three years now. It is a warm community centered school with dedicated teachers. The principle does an excellent job creating a fun learning environment for all students. This year they put in an adaptive playground for children with disabilities.

My child was lost the first day of kindergarten. Turns out she was put on the bus after I spoke with the staff at the school district, her teacher and transportation coordinator which was the principal to let them know NOT to put her on the bus. The teachers at this school are not a representation of the community they serve. While my son was there, strides were being made to incorporate a more diverse staff. My daughter started there this year and from I can see they have 1 African American teacher. Its sad to see such a whitewash happen i...
