Located near Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va., Pole Green Elementary School is all about building community relationships. Known as the Home of the Gators, students in various grade levels have paired off and participated in community projects during the school year. Some projects by Pole Green have included Covenant Woods, Camden’s Cause, Red Cross stockings, and Juvenile Diabetes. In 2017, Pole Green was one of six schools nationwide to be recognized for its student engagement through STEM, and then selected for a live chat with NASA astronauts aboard the International Space Station Expedition 53. This school has offered, and strives to offer, unique and memorable experiences to each of its gators.

Very disappointed through my child’s education term here, as she is special needs and the teachers don’t consider that they may have to alter how the apply there education, and participate in 504/IEPs. Simply put the principle would make comments about their teacher not being able to handle her day...

Excellent school..teachers...leadership. I highly recommend. My son wakes up bright and early daily to get to school. He missed PGES even on holidays and ASKS to go to school.

My son goes here, as did my daughter before. It has a wonderful staff. My son's teacher is amazing this year and you can tell she really cares about teaching her students. I could not be more at ease with my child's elementary years.
