Brownsville Road Elementary School is a public school in northeast Memphis, Tennessee, just a few minutes’ drive from the suburb Bartlett.
Brownsville Road Elementary is part of the Memphis-Shelby County Schools system. The overall vision of Brownsville Road Elementary is to help students develop character and values. At the home of the Broncos, approximately 530 students in grades pre-k through fifth enroll each academic year. There are approximately 35 teachers on staff, each one having about 15 students per classroom.
The faculty’s daily mission is to engage every student in rigorous instruction that supports a growth mindset while building a culture of accountability and achievement. Brownsville Road Elementary is also a magnet school. Students here scored highly in the subjects of Language Arts and math, earning a 4 out of 5, which falls in the excellent category, according to the district’s ranking standards.
Brownsville Road Elementary is proud to offer a curriculum that focuses on international studies. Extracurricular activities include the National Beta Club, music and a community learning garden. Outside of classroom instructors, Brownsville Road Elementary has staff who are trained in specialized areas such as a family engagement specialist and a school nutritionist.

My experience at this school has been positive. The things that stick out are school/teacher-parent communication, student growth, and happy teaching and learning.
