My experience at melrose high school was good and bad and I say that because it would be times where the school would look good behavior and Academic wise but people from the outside will look at it as the bad school and some teachers or administrators will treat is like we're all bad when really it's not that it's kids that attend melrose that really care about their education and wanna do things other school get to do but it is things that happen like kids there will not follow the rules or just do the bare minimum to where it look like nobody care about what the rules say they live they life like they have nothing to lose when really they are not doing anything but making it bad before they know it but overall I enjoyed my time there it's people in the building that really care about the kids and wanna see us do good in life and are trying to get us there college or not they are helping us figure it out

Melrose is a different environment for most if you are not from orange mound. Melrose has great teachers and making sports teams. Staff works hard to meet kids needs and ensure building safety. Biggest upside of Melrose is Principal Davis he is amazing!!

My experience at Melrose was decent. I attended for only 1 year and was able to meant wonderful people. Some of the people make the experience at Melrose enjoyable. However, Melrose is in a poverty area with high level of crime. Resources seemed to be limited and sometimes interest of the student are not available. Overall it is still a functioning school with devoted teachers and students.
