I transferred to Melrose my sophomore because I wanted to play basketball, and Whitehaven wouldn't give me a chance. I came over to Melrose and the coaches gave me a chance to play but not only that I ended up being the Valedictorian for my senior class. I've been playing basketball and running track for 3 years now. When I got to Melrose I fitted in perfectly and you can really tell that we are all 1 big family in Orange Mound. Ever since I transferred to Melrose, I also maintained straight A's with a GPA always above a 4.0. My mother said transferring me to Melrose was the best decision she could have ever made.

Melrose is an excellent school!!! I loved how the teachers make learning fun and interesting by making it easy comparing it to real life. In melrose high school I was able to stay focused on learning without getting bored at all and also i got alot better in test taking! I would like to see a change in the school's aspect though.

When I got to Melrose high school during my 10th grade year I did not want to be there at all. Meanwhile, I started to think to myself i have to make the best out of this being at a school i didn't want to be at became the most enjoyable moments of my high school experiences. Once I Join JR. R.O.T.C. I learn a lot about myself , and how to become a leader and lead a team.
